The Honourable Delegates of derivation is an organisation under the umbrella group derive, which develops interventionalist tactics to provoke and affect market systems. derive aims to crystalise, and make visible, the forces which coerce art production and distribution, through developing projects with any number of representatives within and outside its membership.
Vernacular Diamonds is an attempt to introduce a token currency with the aim of looking at how a money form can pick up or become subject to ideas of locality.I want to be able to archive and recall how these Diamonds absorb the specifics of the site, develop its own short hand, fall victim to deviant practices, get defaced, get debased, fail to measure up to its own high standard of aesthetic legitimacy, and ultimately I hope for Vernacular Diamonds to become consumed and therefore consummated.
